From idea to App Store in 24 hours

Hello, dear readers of Habra!

Has started 24-hour marathon on the development of iOS apps for testing vision. The marathon is available here: twitch.tv. General chat for spectators and leading to jabber'e: bdev@conference.mit.edu.

Set aside for the marathon time I zero write the app under iOS6+ and put it in the App Store. In the program stream:

The idea of the app:

A simple app for testing vision, localized for the Russian and American App Store. On the screen the table of check of sight (table Snellen, Sivtsev, Golovin), which you can zoom in, zoom out slider above. Is allocated a random letter that appears below the choice of three letters. The number of correct answers and the location of the letters is determined by assessment of view.

In App Store there are already a couple similar apps, but they have a few fatal flaws: they are paid, or ugly. The app I write will be free, without ads and open source. No monetization options are going to work for fun.

You are welcome to the stream!

P. S. Today I work without the designers, so if you want to help me with the UI/UX of the app, I would be very grateful. And, of course, the application immediately can be put in the portfolio.

Update from 11.11.13 12:05: On the 22nd hour of developing the application has successfully reached the status "Waiting for Review". During development we decided to abandon the "correct letters" because it seemed strange to play with yourself the guessing game. Therefore, the user gently ask close first one eye, to indicate the bottom row, which he sees, and then repeat the procedure for the other eye.

Today, the application has four tables: Snellen, Sivtsev, Golovin and E-type. Buttons random selection of letters in the table, nice design, sharing to social networks and Easter eggs on the main screen included.

I apologize for such a violent method of storytelling — I hadn't slept for more than a day, and now falls back on the pillow. All of the code on github'e: github.com/backmeupplz/AmIBlind. Write stream on twitch: www.twitch.tv/backmeupplz/profile/pastBroadcasts.

Update from 16.11.13 13:43: the Application successfully got to the App Store. Thanks to everyone who helped during the development of tips and icons!

Download a free app on the link, check your vision, put 5 stars and write a positive review!

The more good reviews will score the application, and the higher rise in the rankings the sooner we will have a new 24-hour marathon.

P. S. S. I'm a freelancer and always looking for new work. Write, if you have interesting puzzles.
